A Yenagoa based pastor has attempted to dupe the Publisher of Newsray Magazine and South-south zone Director of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Mr. Ebi Campbell with N300, 000.
The suspect whose name is simply given as Pastor Kenneth of Christ Holy Vineyard of Liberty in Yenagoa Bayelsa state is allegedly forcing the NICO boss to pay him with the said money for which he never bargained for.
Addressing newsmen in his office in Yenagoa, Mr. Campbell said he came to know the pastor through a friend of his when he had a partial stroke to pray for him.
According to him, the pastor by then has no home to stay so he decided to give up his 2-bedroom flat at Amarata area in Yenagoa City to accommodate him.
But recently the pastor has approached him and demanded for N300, 000 for his prayers he offered him or else he will not leave the 2-bedroom flat he willingly allow him to stay at the initial time.
Mr. Campbell said the pastor has since sending him threat text messages, saying that he will die soon from the partial stroke he’s being inflicted three years ago.
According to him, there is no time he has ever agree to pay money for him for the prayers the said pastor offers at his residence in Azikoro community in Yenagoa metropolis as he pays his transport fair any time he comes around to pray for him.
When he asked the pastor to produce any evidence of agreement, he declined to comment but resorted to sending threatening text messages to him.
He wondered why a man of God he helped with a home to stay has turned evil attempting to defraud him of money, an agreement he never signed with him, he snapped.
According to him, he will report the matter to the police after addressing the electronic and print media in Yenagoa.
Meanwhile, all efforts to contact Pastor Kenneth prove to no avail as he claimed ignorant.
