A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity in Yenagoa said the none payment of their contractual sums by the state government may lead to abandonment of projects.
According to him, some contractors has already abandoned their projects while several contractors who have completed their projects and others near completion are yet to be paid, saying that this is actually affecting their lives paricularly at this hard times.
The money if paid by government would go a long way to alleviate the poverty level they are passing through, he noted.
He therefore urged the state governor Dickson to buckle up and ensure that contractors should be paid as he equally made up his mind to workers salary.
The state commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Barrister Lawrence Ehwudjiakpo could not be reached for comment as he is said to be away for official assignment but in an another development, the lawmakers in the state has expressed satisfaction with the level work done at the on going cargo airport project.
