PMT is poised for first class transport service


The Courier Manager of the Peace Mass Transit (PMT), Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, Mr. Nwanze Amobi has expressed his management's determination to make the company a first class transport service.
Mr. Amobi who disclosed this to newsmen in his office in Yenagoa, said that the company is making progress towards that direction for its numerous passengers that patronize the services of his company across the country.
According to him PMT has not hiked its fares since last year to date, because the company takes much premium on the welfare of its passengers.
He stressed that the company is yet to hike the stipulated transport fares due to the harsh economic realities in the country.
Mr.Amobi also disclosed that new innovation has been introduced into the company as it grows daily in order to achieve set goals with results.
However, he remarked that that a new fleet of cars called “Ebola Hummer" has been added to the existing ones, which are plying the highways and POS are also handy all over the country to ease business transaction of passengers.
The Courier boss noted that, when passengers have complains or problems, the station manager takes control and resolve the matter amicably, not allowing it to get out of hand.
He further noted that the transport company courier services are effective and reliable, but the dream is to be recognized as one of the foremost courier service in the nation.
On the challenges facing the transport company he was of the view that, some government policies on taxation and police checkpoints on the highways are affecting the company, adding that PMT vehicles would run 24 hrs services during the coming yuletide season, and the speed limit to all our drivers is 100 km per hour.
Vehicles in his fleet, he said,  are under strict compliance not to speed above 100 km on transit stressing that erring drivers will be punished as hotlines are provided in all our vehicles in case of complains during the journey.
Furthermore, "we have invested so much on our drivers in terms of training in order for them to be safety conscious and of good behaviour on the steering while driving on the highways.
“Our major interest is high-performance as a transport company that would satisfy the yearning of our numerous passengers as well as serving the interest of the country”, he concluded.
