The Deputy Governor of the state Rear Admiral John Jonah (rtd) made this remark when the House Committee on Nigerian Air Force led by Hon Sampson Ukwu paid a courtesy call on him in Government House, Yenagoa.
He said that the government of Bayelsa state would take an objective look into some of the problems facing the Air Force Mobility Command with a view to improve on them.
The deputy governor further emphasized that the role played by the Air Force in the state is encouraging so far and expressed the state government gratitude for their efforts.
He particularly hailed the Nigerian Air Force because they were first military outfit to indicate interest and establish their presence in the state followed by the Navy although, the Army is yet to come to the state but they have concluded arrangements to establish a formation in the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of the House Committee on Air Force, Hon. Ukwu told the deputy governor that they were in the state to inspect ongoing Air Force facilities and work towards improving on it.
Hon. Ukwu disclosed that legislations have been put together by the National Assembly for the Air Force to perform their duty, adding that the Air Force is currently carrying out surveillance operation to stop pipeline vandalization in the state.
However, he remarked that the Air Force Mobility Command in the state have some challenges they are facing today and solicited for the state government to help.
The challenges include the lack of Mobile Tower and Mobile station in the state Mobility Command.
