Bayelsa state Police Commissioner, Mr. Asuquo Amba has declared in Yenagoa that police bail is free.
Therefore he has directed all the Divisional Police Officers (DPO’s) in the state to paste the sticker on their notice boards without delay.
He gave this directive while addressing officers, rank and file of the Nigeria police force at the Ekeki police station, Yenagoa.
Mr. Asuguo who is on familiarization tour to police formations and other key security points in the state reiterated that his stay in Bayelsa state would not condone corruption by policemen in accordance with the Inspector-General’s directive.
According to him policemen can be rewarded for hard work, adding that any police officer found wanting for corruption and indiscipline will be shown the way out because he has no room for orderly room trials. To him, there is no place for those who die with criminals.
On policing the state, he is poised to meet with traditional rulers and vigilante group for intelligent gathering on regular basis with a view to secure the state safe for economic development which is the paramount reason he is in Bayelsa state.
Mr. Amba however promised to add more policemen to man the Ekeki police station to meet up security challenges the station faces.
Earlier, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Mr. Victor Berezi told the commissioner that the Ekeki police station host important state and federal establishments which can be described as the hubbub of business.
However, the station has some constraints such as patrol vehicles to meet up the security challenges including staff school but in spite of this, he has been able to make significant achievements such as the recovery of stolen property and arrest of armed robbers within his jurisdiction since he took over from his predecessor two months ago.
