The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Monimichelle Sports Facility Development Company, Mr. Ebi Egbe has described the Sports Academy at Asoama in the Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State as unprecedented in Africa and the globe.
He made this know to newsmen in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state.
According to him, the state Governor Henry Seriake Dickson’s vision of establishing the fusion academy is a pride to the state and the nation in general.
Mr. Egbe is of the view that the academy will encourage youths to venture in sports while also pursuing their academics thereby making them to be meaningfully engaged.
He thanked the governor for the initiative, while calling on the people to support him to actualize the laudable project.
Egbe whose sports facility firm is handling the re-grassing of the Sampson Siasia Sports Complex turf believed that the Asoama Sports Academy would generate huge internally generated revenue (IGR) to the state because it will attract students and tourists from far and near to the state.
“Apart from that, it would also bring academic activity as the governor is bent on bringing first class sports facilities to the institution”, he
The sports facility developer is of the conviction that the institution will take off July as planned.
“The classrooms are ready and work is being put in place for the sports facilities so I am very optimistic that the July commencement date is feasible”.
He hinted that Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Ltd is working in conjunction with project consultant and sports ministry to put in place the needed facilities to actualize the project.
