The second phase of the Akassa Development Foundation (ADF) raffle draw held at Ogbokiri, Akassa on November 28, 2017 saw the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Ingobere Abraham carting away two star prizes.
He won the first prize of Kekenapep and the third star prize of a big Thermocool generator, the second star prize of a deep freezer went to Miss Lizbeth Jackson of Jackson compound, Ogbokiri.
Other winners of the 4th star prize of six small generators are Divine Philip (Ogbokiri –Akassa), Mrs. Belema Yalu (Opu-Okumbiri), Mr. Agent Suwel (Liama), Mr. Moses Oweigha (Kongho-Akassa), Akumolayon Wisdom (Bekekiri-Akassa) and Kuntex Adam (Bekekiri-Akassa).
Winners of the fifth star prize of three grinding machines are Ayebaene David (Nimibie-Akassa), Rose Palsy (Yenagoa) and Mrs. Grace Kunegha (Bekekiri).
Over 50 consolation prizes were won at the draw which attracted a sizable crowd.
In his remarks at the draw, the chairman of the occasion and Amayanabo Erewbie community, HRH (Venerable) Princewill Consul-Oluku, called on the Akassa people to rally round the foundation to enable its development objectives for the people.
He said the raffle draw is designed to raise funds for the development efforts of the foundation in Akassa Clan, and appeal to the people to respond to the questionnaire of the foundation to enable it improve on the organization of the raffle draw.
Also speaking, the guest of hounor, Hon. Ingobere Abraham, represented by elder Bob Awulabah, the master of ceremony of the occasion, said he supports the development efforts of the ADF and pleaded with the Akassa people to rally the foundation for the development of the Akassa nation.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the chairman of the ADF Board of Trustees, Arc. Harcourt Aduke, represented by Chief Bomolaghon O. Ereku, the executive secretary of the foundation, said the foundation is set to fine-tune the organization of the raffle draw with a view to improving it and making it competitive among communities of Akassa kingdom.
He thanked elites and politicians of the kingdom, particularly senator Ben Murray-Bruce, representing Bayelsa East at the senate, Hon. Ingobere Abraham, Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, HRH Ebiegberi Edward-Inatimi, Oboko 11, the Amayanabo of Kongho-Akassa, Chief Franco Sampson-Emoh, and Hon. Oberiakumo Yousuo, all of whom, he said, provided prizes for the draws.
He thanked members of the board of trustees, the General Assembly of the Foundation, the National Lottery Regulatory Commission and Mrs. Nikiru Obah, the Pro-Natura International Adviser, for their support, collaboration and facilitation of the raffle draw.
