Bayelsa guber aspirant, Barrister Kemela Okara Barrister Kemela Okara has confessed that Governor Henry Seriake Dickson have asked him to pick up his intention and nomination form under the platform of Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to vie for the state governorship election billed for November 16, 2019.
He made this disclosure while addressing journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Press Centre in Yenagoa Tuesday.
He debunked the notion that he is a neophyte in politics as he contested the guber elections in 2012 under the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, but however conceded.
He further explained that many of his contemporaries have held the view that it was the end of his political journey but Governor Dickson later chooses him worthy to serve under him as commissioner, adding that he has the passion for Dickson’s administration policy and programmes so far.
According to Okara, his major focus for running in the guber race is hinged on job creation and industrialization to make Bayelsa state a pacesetter, a centre of attraction in Nigeria.
The former Secretary to Government disclosed that he had offered personal scholarship for students to study Medicine, Nursing, Engineering and Law in universities across Nigeria and hopes to do more.
He also promised to address the perennial flooding at the Nigeria Union Journalists, NUJ, Bayelsa state council secretariat, Yenagoa after the primaries.
Not only, Barrister Okara also promised to support local newspaper publishers in the state, saying that he is jovial to journalists disseminating the news.
