Politics: Bayelsa APC still Kindergarten

Politicians in the All Progressive Party, APC, are yet to learn the antics of the defectors from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to its fold.
This is apparently affecting the stability and unity of the party to translate change both at the federal and state levels breeding unwarranted power tussle among its members.
In 2014 the leadership of APC open handedly welcomes the PDP five governors and a good chunk of its national assembly members to the party believing that they are valuable political jewelry to boost their party victory during the 2015 general elections.
Believe you me; Nigerians patiently watched this development with keen interest by the time what these backsliders will become lords of the APC main stream politics. The APC is ignorant to suspect that the backsliders wanted their political relevance to remain in spite of losing victory at the presidency.
Really the first blow of shock landed the face of APC when the election of the Senate President hot up. Unaware of this plot, a PDP defector and 8-eight- year tenure governor of Kwara state Hon. Boukola Saraki eventually grab the seat. Not only that, Ekweremadu who was the deputy senate president while David Mark held sway retains his seat. This is a fine plot that makes the PDP more powerful at the senate.
The APC leadership did not take this kindly with its national assembly members who connived with the PDP to thwart their party’s chance to lead the senate. President Buhari himself is handicapped to intervene as his hands are tied to dictate the in-house affairs of the National Assembly.
Several attempts have been made by suspected members of the APC to remove Saraki and at last, he‘s now standing trial on allegations of false assets declaration at the Code of Conduct Bureau Tribunal - a plan to sack him from office.
And now, the same PDP defectors to APC in Bayelsa state are flexing muscles over who becomes the party flag bearer for the state governorship election on December 5, 2015. After the botched primary election, a chronicle of count and counter allegations flooded Yenagoa and beyond.
Ex-governor of Bayelsa state who happens to be one of contenders of the prime seat, Timipre Sylva declared that he remains the winner of the primary that bedeviled by violence while his arch rival Chief TimiAlaibe calls for the its cancellation being backed up by the comrade governor Adams Oshiomhole’s view about the election. The chairman of APC Chief Oyegun also calls for the reschedule of the primary election.
The above scenario reflects that the PDP defectors are cleverly wielding positions of trust more than the APC at national and state level. Can the APC learn for once?
Sylva led Chief Timi Alaibe and a host of PDP members including the late chairman of the party, Col. Samuel Inokoba (rtd) to APC at a mega rally of the party in Yenagoa.
It is like the APC members never knew their onions of politicking because arrogance, greed and corruption shrouded their eyes. Without politics they remain irrelevant in the society and they can be driven very fast to take vague decisions that turn them against one another most times and this action of theirs can make the future of the people retrogressive. Just imagine this: all the defectors wanted to be governors in order to protect their interest in Abuja.
The PDP is smiling as APC cannot take full control of their kit. When will they learn to overcome this aberration? Time will tell.
