Dickson is greedy, self-centered leader – Abadi

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has been described as self-centered and greedy leader as he’s only empowering his family and other close relations since he becomes governor.
To this end, he will lose the December 5, 2015 governorship election because the people of the state are living in abject poverty in spite of the infrastructural development he has embarked upon in the state.
One time chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Rufus Abadi made this assertion on a telephone interview with on Friday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital.
Chief Abadi who spoke critically on some pressing state political issues stated that APC gubernatorial candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva is loved by the people of the state than Dickson while he was in power from 2007 to 2011.
According to him, Sylva is not greedy like Dickson in that he desires to carry the people along particularly members of his cabinet without starving them of funds. Not only that, Sylva used to embark on human oriented development projects for the people of the state and he’s friendly not arrogant, he freely mixed with the common man.
He described the Fly Over Bridge constructed at the NNPC mega filling station roundabout by Governor Dickson administration as a death trap because its termination point is not ideal especially the Oxbow Lake axis which leads to nowhere, adding that it was huge waste of fund by the restoration government.
Restoration, he further stated amounts to nothing when the people complaint is hunger as delayed payment of civil servants salary and overheads has become the order of the day which usually drag back effective service delivery to the people of the state by the government.
Chief Abadi is of the view that the former Bayelsa state governor, Sylva effected prompt payment of civil servants and overheads to ministries which made his administration more functional than Dickson.
He disclosed that the people of the state are not happy with Governor Dickson today as his singular desire for choice property override the interest of Bayelsans. He condemned Dickson’s clandestine intent to demolish houses and acquire the land for his personal interest in the state as terrible, adding that even as at that, he would have provided other lands for the owners of such property elsewhere to build their new houses. He also said that Dickson is not interested for any political appointee in his government to build a house while in office and asked anyone to challenge him on that.
On the issue of dwindling allocations from the Federal Government which Dickson claimed to have slowed down development projects of the state, Abadi was quick to point out that Dickson gets the biggest allocation of funds than successive governors of the state and wondered how he pretends to mislead the people of the state.
Therefore the former PDP chairman urged Bayelsans to vote for the APC guber candidate Chief Sylva on December 5, 2015 because when the righteous rule the people rejoices.
All efforts to contact the press secretary to the governor to react to these issues proved abortive as he’s said to be out on official assignment.
