Now, Bayelsa cargo airport to be completed in March 2017

he bold claim by Governor Dickson of Bayelsa state that the Cargo Airport, Amassoma, will be delivered in December this year is a mirage after all as the governor told some visiting former governors and national PDP officials that the project would be now delivered by March 2017.
He did not give reasons for the change of completion date, but he remarked that the ongoing airport project is first of its kind in Ijaw land that when completed, it would serve as a world trade center.
He equally urged the Federal Government to grant the International Cargo Airport to operate at that level.
The governor who claimed that it was his first time to inspect the project site this year said that he was humbled and fulfilled to see the level of work done on the project, adding that he commends the state lawmakers who gave the approval of funds to embarked on the airport project.
The airport, he said, would engage investors on tourism and the economy to the state 
if completed.
Also in his remarks, the former Minister of Interior Hon. Abba Moro is of the view that Governor Dickson is working; the PDP is working as well, describing Governor Dickson as a visionary leader but on a lighter note, he hope to bring yams from Otokpo to Bayelsa state for sale.
Dignitaries at the mini project inspection include former governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, former governor Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano state, former governor of Kebbi state Alhaji Adamu Aliero and former minister of interior Mr. Abba Moro among others.
