Clarion call for youths in Bayelsa

A clarion call has gone out to Bayelsa youths to take advantage of the training opportunities available for them in the Nigeria Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
This call was made by the General Manager, Zonal Coordinator and Board Projects Engr. G.O. Ginah during question and answers session with independent newspaper publishers in his office in Yenagoa.
According to him, thousands of Bayelsa youths are still ignorant about the long term and short strategies the organization has outlined to make them self reliant including gainful employment for them in the oil and gas sector of the economy.
He explained that NCDMB’s training programmes located in some of the Niger Delta region such as the Fabrication Yard in Polaku is specifically meant for them to build local capacities towards their future wellbeing but however, but however some must be science oriented youths at the secondary school level.
He added that youths are trained to engage in environment management with a view to take part in oil spillages such as the Ogoni cleanup exercise in Rivers state and other job opportunities available in the oil industry.
These opportunities, he said are available for them to grab and would want Bayelsa youth to queue into it and not until people from outside come in to take over advantage from them.
It could be recalled that NCDMB is poised to create linkages to other sectors of the national economy, building local capacities in the Nigeria oil and gas industry, opening the oil and gas industry to involve the Nigeria people and cementing access to oil fields for higher productivity.
