The Ibe Uyadonwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Dennis Otuaro has pointed out that God is not a Christian.
He made this remark at the just concluded Gbaramatu Kingdom festival in Delta state of Nigeria.
According to him, the Gbaramatu Kingdom celebrates Gbaran Egbesu, Ayeba-Ama (Mother of creation) and Amaseimokumo (Redeemption/cleansing festival annually to extract the cultural heritage of the people, adding that God is not a Chriatian.
He said that culture is the way of life of the people because the Ijaw culture is embedded in Egbesu, saying that the Gbaran Egbesu is not an idol as being speculated by many people.
Chief Otuaro is of the view that the culture of Gbaramatu kingdom is always genuinely presented the way Egbesu is worshiped, emphasizing that Christianity is not the only religion existing in the world.
On her part, the National Women Leader of the kingdom, triple Chief Vero Tangbewe said the annual festival of Gbaramatu is celebrated to show the peace and tranquility in the kingdom that sweep all bad things away by a black masquerade.
The festival which was held at the palace play ground in Oporoza community saw traditional dances, masquerade displays and importantly the sweeping away of bad things in the kingdom in order to bring unity and love among the people.
