A cattle has killed his herdsman and another sustained serious injury at the waist in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
An eye witness account said that the cattle herdsman met his waterloo when he tried to get control of his strayed cattle.
According to him, the cattle get loose when he was heading them through the Swali community bush to the state cattle ranch situated at Bayelsa Palm, Elebele.
He told Creek News Weekly that the cattle herdsman in an attempt to grab his cattle ran after it but suddenly the cattle had jumped into the Oxbow Lake, near Daewoo construction site in Swali community.
Before this happened, a young man whose name is not immediately known was injured by the stray and wild cattle in another attempt to assist the herdsman to grab it.
However, the relentless cattle herdsman went further to use a dugout canoe boat in pursuit of his animal on the Oxbow Lake and grabs its horns.
But unfortunately for him, the cattle hit the herdsman with its head and he fell into the water.
Before passersby’s knew what happened at the Oxbow Lake, the cattle herdsman is drowned and his body is nowhere to be found.
The eye witness explained that the cattle swam across to the Swali community farmland opposite the Oxbow Lake and fled.
The corpse of deceased is yet to be seen at the time of this report but the young man that sustained injury is receiving, medical attention at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Yenagoa Bayelsa state.
