Ijaws evicted from Izon House in Abuja

By Papa Austino Bob Sept. 23, 2017
Scores of Bayelsans and other Ijaw people living in Izon Houses in Abuja have been evicted by the police from their homes in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Information reaching our news desk from Abuja says the eviction order came from above in Bayelsa state.
It could be recalled that former governor DSP Alamieyeseigha built Ijaw Houses in Abuja before he left office.
The houses were meant to serve as residential accommodation for Bayelsans and other Ijaw people who might have been transferred their service from the state government to the federal level until they own their personal houses to stay.
We gathered that most of the evicted Ijaws are now finding it difficult to get a dwelling place to put their property as the eviction exercise was carried out without notification by the police.
Efforts to contact the General Manager of the Bayelsa state Housing and Property Development Authority proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
Details later!
