Traditional ruler joins BFBC

By Daniel Domotimi
The traditional ruler of Opokuma Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Akpoitari Diongoli has indicated interest to join the Bayelsa Facebook Community (BFBC) in pushing the "Not Too Young To Run" bill to ensure its full implementation.

HRM Diongoli made this remark when members of the Bayelsa state Facebook community and Youths Initiative For Advocacy Growth and
Advancement (YIAGA) visited him in his Yenagoa resident, saying that democratic rule in Nigeria nowadays has more of septuagenarians and octogenarians than competent young people which is counterproductive to development.

According to him, there are vibrant youths who can be in positions of leadership as mentors but not leaders facing health challenges that are not functioning in optimal capacity.

He said that there is need for paradigm shift as youths are more productive in development, adding that it is his wish for them to equally rule.

"It's not fair to rub these youths because a few of them were involved in criminal activities such as militancy, kidnapping and other anti-social vices", he added.

The former general manager of Glory FM 97.1 said it’s not about how old you are but how well one understands the principle of service that matters.

The visit had the state coordinator of the Abuja based group, (YIAGA)
Miss Maureen Amananghan, a BFC house of assembly member, Miss Bridget
Pinawoe and the Special Adviser to the BFC governor, Sir Danielucky
Domotimi in attendance.
