Arewa community meets with police in Bayelsa

Mr. Kadzai Bitrus Daudau
Both parties of the botched Bayelsa Arewa Community November 8, 2017 chairmanship election have met with the police in Bayelsa to mend fences to re-schedule another one.

Spokesman of the one of the contestants, Bitrus Daudau disclosed that the meeting became imperative following the inadequate security during the botched election.

According to him, he wrote series of letters to the security agents in the state which made the meeting possible for both parties to attend and move the body forward.

The meeting which was presided over by the deputy commissioner of police had resolved that the withdrawn election committee representatives from Alhaji Ma’Azu's camp should be re-instate within one week.

Not only that, they should hold a congress meeting and thereafter report the resolutions back to the deputy commissioner of police office for consideration, adding that it is after this that a new election date can be announced.

Mr. Daudau pointed out that Alhaji Ma’Azu and his supporters are peace loving people, however, advised them to be calm and law abiding because peace is what they needed and that peace is golden.

He also consoled with the bereaved family of their brother in Arewa community at Bayelsa Palm who is murdered in cold blood by unknown gunmen.

However, he appealed to the police in the state to fish out the culprits of the crime without delay.
