Sylva, Lokpobiri carpet Dickson over N800bn loan

Federal Minister of Agriculture (State) Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri and ex-governor of Bayelsa state Chief Timipre Sylva have carpeted Governor Henry Seriake Dickson over N800bn he borrowed to run the state.

The two All Progress Congress (APC) chieftains made the blamed on Governor Dickson during the party’s state congress held at the party’s secretariat in Yenagoa over the weekend.

They questioned the rationale behind the borrowing such huge sum of amount without any tangible thing to show for it in the state so far.

But what they hear nowadays is that the incumbent governor cannot pay salaries and bent down on downsizing his work force in the state which is making them to suffer daily.

According to them, what is to be done to get out of this logjam is for Bayelsa people to join APC to salvage the ugly and distress situation.

In his separate remark, Chief Sylva described Dickson’s administration as kleptocracy, adding that Bayelsa belongs to everybody and not a family government.

He is of the view that Governor Dickson abandoned the Law school he established in Yenagoa to help Niger Delta University, Amassoma, law students but he went to his own town, Toru-Orua, to establish University of Africa

He APC has come to take over PDP sharp, sharp and advised party faithful to unite and work together in a peaceful manner in whatever they do.

Sylva debased the judgment an APC member got, pointing out that he is not bordered because such people tried to stop the party to move forward but they failed.

However, he said that APC is not started without getting 20 out of the 24 members in the state House of Assembly and two senators at the National Assembly, a task that must be done.
