Ahead of the July 27 2019 local government chairmanship elections in Bayelsa state group has called on the state governor, Henry Seriake Dickson to ensure that only trusted fellow emerge as the chairman of Sagbama local government.
The group under the name 'Alive Sagbama' endorsed, Prince Douye Koroye, the former chairman of Bayelsa state volunteers as its preferred candidate as chairman..
The group, which claimed to have grass root structures across the Sagbama local government area therefore called on the former volunteer chairman to contest the chairmanship.
In a statement, made available to newsmen, the chairman of the group, Ebi Lawrence and its director of publicity, Tare Owie described Douye Koroye as a faithful party member and worthy shepherd that has earned public acceptance beyond party lines as a result of his quality and detribalized youth that fought crime and criminality as the chairman of the Bayelsa volunteer.
They further stressed that Bayelsans are witness to the peace and stability that was enjoyed during his short stay as chairman of the security outfit.
The group said it is appealing and calling on the state governor, to also endorse Koroye a dynamic young man with a trusted character that will pilot the affairs the Local Government in line with the developmental strides of the restoration agenda.
