No doubt that Hon Preye Influence Oseke, member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency at the federal house of representative has become a unifying symbol in Bayelsa politics as the People's Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressive Congress, APC, celebrated his birthday and election victory. Bayelsa political division started in 2007 after the Impeachment of late Diepreye Solomon Peters and had never been stable up until now.
Today, Hon Preye Influence Oseke is taking the Bayelsa politics to a different dimension were after the contest of an election, the winner will shun party affiliations and run a government of all. During his 2019 birthday celebration in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital, Preye Influence Oseke's foundation donated scholarship fees of twelve million naira (12,000,000,00) to Southern Ijaw students union with PDP, APC and other party members inclusive.
It is in record that after Hon Henry Seriake Dickson's led restoration Government stopped the payment of bursary in 2012, Oseke had been offering ten (10) student from every Southern Ijaw Community but the birthday celebration revealed that it was expanded, across the state and accommodated more beneficiaries.
While addressing the Press, Oseke said, "the lecture held in the launching of my foundation was in commemoration of the activities and to expand the scope of my outreach.
"The open dinner was also an appreciation to thank the youths of Silga for giving me the opportunity to serve them.
"He said having other party members in this celebration will not put my party loyalty in doubt; my party knows my unifying style of leadership". "I have never demonstrated disloyalty to our party and if someone from other party chooses to support me, it's a plus to our party". Oseke noted.
The Special Adviser to the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Preye Agama told Journalist that, "the issue of political party in Bayelsa politics started few years ago, we were in one accord so I believe and pray that our Fathers and elders emulate the actions of this young man by dealing firmly with all, inclusively.
"As a youth, if you believe on your ability, you can get to any level in the world. Oseke have proven beyond reasonable doubt that nobody can change your destiny.
"The important thing is being resilient, consistent and having the fear of God and be a giver that will be ready to cheer what ever you have with your brothers.
"It's a thing of joy that Bayelsans have a person that does not look at party affiliations before assisting his people". "We know that Bayelsa state is the only homogeneous Ijaw speaking state in the entire Niger Delta Region and as such, it is expected that we see ourselves as one and the same people not minding where we come from", he hinted
