A sporadic bomb blast has rocked the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, secretariat between 10 and 11 am on Friday.
Nobody knows how it all happened, but a source closed to Creek News Weekly said that thousands of party supporters have milled around the secretariat for the collection of forms on the party ad-hock delegates elections headed by the Governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi.
The source further said that a group of people stormed the PDP secretariat to register a protest that the party decided to sideline some aspirants from contesting the party primaries.
Thereafter, another group also emerged from the PDP secretariat led by the state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Jonathan Obuebite to storm Chief Timi Alaibe’s campaign secretariat just situated besides PDP‘s secretariat.
As soon as they were back to their secretariat, a sporadic bomb blast exploded although no life lost, he said.
According to eye witness account, the commissioner nearly escapes mob attack from the unruly crowd as people ran helter-skelter to save their lives after the bomb blast.
Normalcy however return to the area as security personnel put the rowdy situation under control.
Efforts to reach the state police image maker, Mr. Buswat Asinim proved abortive.
